SB County Super Seven Girls Basketball Rankings

Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for girls basketball each Monday throughout the league season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other from week to week during the season.

The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (2/6/2012)

1) Santa Barbara Dons (15-10, 3-4 CL) — Santa Barbara moves up to the top position after a 56-47 victory on Monday over Dos Pueblos. The Dons have one game remaining on the regular season schedule.

2)  Dos Pueblos Chargers (17-9, 3-4 CL) — The Chargers have lost two in a row but more importantly lost senior guard Jessica Escalante to a season-ending injury in a game last week. The injury loss is a major setback to the Chargers.

3) St. Joseph Knights (8-16, 6-4 P7) — St. Joseph is the top county team in the Pac-7 league with a 6-4 record. The Knights have won three of their last four and have two regular season games remaining before beginning CIF competition.

4) Righetti Warriors (12-10, 5-4 P7) — Three games in the Warriors’ final week heading into playoffs. Righetti edged Pioneer Valley by four points in its only game last week.

5)  Providence Hall Lions (13-5, 5-0 Condor) — The Lions, currently the second-ranked team in Division 6, worked over Laguna Blanca in their last league game. The Lions face Thacher on Wednesday for a chance to clinch their first Condor League title.

6) Village Christian Academy Lions (12-1, 11-0 CVL) — Village Christian is unbeaten in the Coast Valley League and no team has gotten closer than 14 points. The Lions’ only loss of the season was to Providence Hall by one.

7)   Carpinteria Warriors (10-14, 4-4 FL) — Carpinteria finishes off its regular season with games at Grace Brethren and Santa Paula. If previous records hold, the Warriors will complete their Frontier League season in fourth place.
