SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (2/06/2012)
1) Righetti Warriors (18-4, 7-2 P7) — After a stumbling block slapped the Warriors with two losses in one week, Righetti came back with a pair of wins last week. One of them was a 77-71 non-league victory over Colony – the top team from the Mt. Baldy League and seventh-ranked team in Division 2A. Righetti is No. 6.
2) Santa Barbara Dons (12-10, 6-4 CL) — The Dons fell to San Marcos on Friday night in the two teams’ third meeting of the season. If the final week plays out according to plan, the Dons will still finish ahead of the Royals as the second-place team in Channel League because they won the three-game series with San Marcos.
3) San Marcos Royals (12-9, 6-5 CL) — The Royals won two of three Channel League games last week to remain in the hunt for a second-place finish in league play. Odds are against San Marcos, however, due to two league losses to Santa Barbara. The Royals only have one regular season game remaining before learning their CIF draw. They are currently ranked No. 5 in Division 3AA
4) St. Joseph Knights (14-8, 4-3 P7) — The Knights followed up a victory over Super Seven No. 1 Righetti with another Pac-7 win over Pioneer Valley. St. Joseph then suffered a crucial league loss to Atascadero that may have pushed the Knights to a fourth-place finish in league. The Knights are still the No. 4 team in Division 4A.
5) Cabrillo Conquistadores (13-11, 9-2 LPL) — The Conqs have won four of their past five and have a lock on second place in the Los Padres League. Cabrillo has beaten everyone in its league not named Morro Bay.
6) Bishop Diego Cardinals (12-12, 7-2 FL) — The Cardinals have won six of their last seven contests. Bishop, ranked No. 14 in Division 5AA, wraps up its regular season on Wednesday against Villanova.
7) Dos Pueblos Chargers (6-15, 3-7 CL) — Dos Pueblos took two losses on the chin last week and finishes up its regular season with games against Santa Barbara and Buena this week.
On the Bubble: Village Christian Academy, Laguna Blanca.
