After trailing first-place Ventura by three points at halftime, the game got away from Dos Pueblos.
The Chargers were outscored 19-6 in the third quarter and dropped a 61-39 decision in a Channel League basketball game on Wednesday.
“The third quarter was tough as Ventura hit some big 3’s and we couldn’t sustain offensive momentum,” DP coach Zoe Zamora said.
Zach Gwin scored 17 points to lead Ventura (16-5, 7-0), while Nick Rudolph added 11 points and Conner Neary 10.
Mansai Conner scored nine points and Cruz Mertens tallied eight for Dos Pueblos (5-13, 2-5).
