SB County’s Super Seven Girls Basketball Rankings

Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for girls basketball each Monday throughout the league season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other from week to week during the season.

The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

This is the fourth week of rankings. CLICK HERE for past weeks.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (1/23/2012)

1) Dos Pueblos Chargers (16-7, 2-2 CL) — The Chargers played just once last week and dropped a 68-51 decision to Buena. Dos Pueblos is ranked No. 4 in CIF Division 2-A.

2) Santa Barbara Dons (13-8, 2-3 CL) — The Dons suffered a 13-point loss to Ventura – the No. 3 team in Div. 2-AA – in their only game last week. Santa Barbara, which has beaten Righetti and St. Joseph this season, is currently ranked No. 13 in Division 3-AAA.

3) Righetti Warriors (11-8, 4-2 P7) — The Warriors won a pair of league games last week over Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo. Righetti plays St. Joseph this week, a team it beat by one point in their first Pac-7 game of the season.

4) St. Joseph Knights (5-15, 3-3 P7) — The Knights split their first six games in Pac-7 play and begin the second round on Friday against Righetti. The Knights can do better in the second half, as two of their three league losses came by a combined margin of four points.

5)  Providence Hall Lions (8-5, 1-0 Condor) — The Lions, currently the top-ranked team in Division 6, won two games last week and have won three in a row. Providence Hall has defeated Bishop Diego, San Marcos, Cate and Valley Christian Academy this season.

6) Village Christian Academy Lions (8-1, 7-0 CVL) — Village Christian has moved up to No. 4 in this week’s Division 6 polls. The Lions’ only loss of the season was to Providence Hall by one.

7)   Pioneer Valley Panthers (8-9, 0-6 P7) — Pioneer Valley has struggled in Pac-7 League competition on its way to six straight losses. The frustrating thing for the Panthers is that they’ve all been close. None of those six losses have been by more than 10.

On the Bubble:  Bishop Diego Cardinals,  Santa Ynez Pirates, Carpinteria Warriors.
