SB County’s Super Seven Boys Basketball Rankings

Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for boys basketball each Monday throughout the league season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other from week to week during the season.

The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

This is the fifth week of rankings. CLICK HERE for past weeks.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (1/30/2012)

1) Righetti Warriors (16-4, 6-2 P7) — Righetti hit a speed bump last week, suffering its first two-game losing streak of the season. The Warriors dropped their first Pac-7 game to Arroyo Grande before dropping another league game to St. Joseph. The loss to AG snapped a six-game win streak for Righetti, which has four games remaining on its regular season schedule.

2) Santa Barbara Dons (11-9, 5-3 CL) — The Dons remained in sole possession of second place in the Channel League last week with their second win over San Marcos this season. Those two meet again on Friday in their third meeting of the season.

3) San Marcos Royals (12-9, 4-4 CL) — The Royals are not happy with being 4-4 in Channel League play this season. Three of those losses, however, have come by a combined total of five points. San Marcos enters a week in which it will play three league games, starting with Ventura on Monday and finishing with the Dons on Friday.

4) St. Joseph Knights (14-8, 4-3 P7) — The Knights became the first county team to defeat Righetti this season. St. Joseph beat the Warriors at home 65-62 for the Pac-7 victory. St. Joseph lost to Mission Prep in their other game last week.

5)  Cabrillo Conquistadores (11-11, 7-2 LPL) — The Conqs split their two games last week, falling to Morro Bay after recording a 31-point win over Santa Ynez. Cabrillo looks to be a lock for the postseason with a 7-2 record in the Los Padres League. Cabrillo wraps up its regular season with three consecutive home games.

6) Bishop Diego Cardinals (10-12, 5-2 FL) — The Cardinals look like they’re going to have to settle on second place in the Frontier League following their second loss to Malibu last week. Bishop’s win over Grace Brethren earlier in the week had been the Cardinals’ fourth straight league win.

7)  Dos Pueblos Chargers (6-13, 3-5 CL) — Dos Pueblos throttled Buena 84-53 last week, but also absorbed a double-digit loss to Ventura. The Chargers still have one more game with each of their Channel League opponents starting on Wednesday with San Marcos.

On the Bubble:  Village Christian Academy, Laguna Blanca.
