Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for girls basketball each Monday throughout the league season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other from week to week during the season.
The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (1/9/2012)
1) Dos Pueblos Chargers (15-5) — Dos Pueblos won twice last week. The Chargers shook off San Marcos for a league win and topped off the week with a non-league victory over Pacifica, which was the runner-up in the Green Division of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions. Dos Pueblos is ranked No. 4 in CIF Division 2-A.
2) Santa Barbara Dons (12-5) — The Dons have the most wins of anyone over other county schools: Lompoc, Cabrillo, St. Joseph, Santa Ynez, Santa Maria, Pioneer Valley and Righetti. The only county team that has beaten the Dons is Dos Pueblos, who Santa Barbara happens to see on Thursday. Santa Barbara is the No. 7 team in the newly created Division 3-AAA.
3) Pioneer Valley Panthers (8-5) — Pioneer Valley has proven its standing among the County’s elite with a string of victories over area teams. The Panthers have already defeated Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, Orcutt Academy, Lompoc, Bakersfield, and Morro Bay. Pac-7 play begins on Wednesday against Paso Robles.
4) Righetti Warriors (8-7) — Righetti has a 59-41 victory over Santa Maria to its credit, but lost to Dos Pueblos by 32 points in its season opener. The Warriors recently finished in 7th place of the Green Division at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions
5) St. Joseph Knights (2-12) — After two blowout losses to Santa Barbara High and Dos Pueblos in the Gold Coast Tournament, St. Joseph improved at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions and only lost to the Dons by three points in a Gold Division game. The Knights have played a difficult preseason schedule and start league play this week against Righetti.
6) Providence Hall Lions (6-5) — The Lions, currently the top-ranked team in Division 6, won their one game of the week in blowout fashion. Providence Hall has defeated Bishop Diego, San Marcos and Valley Christian Academy this season.
7) Village Christian Academy Lions (4-1) — The Lions’ only loss of the season was to Providence Hall by one. Their four wins have come by an average of 29 points. Village Christian in the No. 8 in this week’s Division 6 polls.
