Hutchinson’s 17 does good things for Warriors

Marcus Hutchinson’s 17 points was tops among three Warriors in double-digits on Wednesday, bringing Carpinteria a 65-54 Frontier League win over Santa Paula.

“We jumped out to a lead and never looked back,” said Warriors head coach Johnny Ward.

Kyle Millhollin poured in 13 points in limited minutes and junior Kevyn Crocker provided 11 points off the bench. Shamus Figueras added eight points to the Warriors’ bench scoring.

Carpinteria, which is 1-1 in league play, travels to Grace Brethren on Friday.

“If we play the way we played today, it’s going to translate to good things,” Ward said.
