Hope Grant scored eight of Carpinteria’s 17 goals on Wednesday as the Warriors claimed their first league win 17-2 over Villanova.
Maddie Brooks added six more to form a lethal 1-2 punch. Leticia Cruz, Morgan Cook and Tatiana Verdugo also found the back of the net for Carpinteria, which improves to 8-6 overall.
The Warriors, who play Cate on Friday, are 1-1 in league after being edged out by Malibu on Monday.
Vanessa Vega stopped 13 shots defending the cage and the Carpinteria defense held Villanova scoreless in the second half.
