Cate’s offense came alive in a 12-5 girls water polo win against visiting Nordhoff on Friday.
Rams goalie Lela Puckett stopped twelve shots to lead Cate to the Tri-Valley League victory.
The Rams lit up the cages, with sophomore Chloe King getting her first two goals of the year. Junior Kaitlyn Gulock scored on a counterattack for the first time this year.
Cate’s leading scorer Caroline Montgomery did it again, recording a team-high four goals and assisting on three more. Sophomore Sophia Soriano added two goals from 2-meters. With Isabella Thomas in foul trouble, junior Lane Bhutani and sophomore Anna Lueck filled in nicely and played some stellar defense on the day.
The victory moves Cate’s league record to 3-3. Next up is a trip to Villanova next Wednesday at 3:15.
