Carpinteria’s girls water polo team wore out the scoreboard in the first half on Tuesday, eventually recording a 20-1 victory over Channel Islands.
Led by Tatiana Verdugo’s game-high six goals, the Warriors managed to score 17 times in the first two quarters before letting up in the second half.
Maddie Brooks tallied five goals and Andrea Delgado added three. Hope Grant and Leticia Cruz matched each other with a pair of scores while Morgan Cook and Vanessa Vega recorded one goal each.
