Warriors lose Jim Bashore opener to Nordhoff

After a poor shooting night, the Carpinteria boys basketball team lost its opening game at the Jim Bashore tournament 49-27 to Nordhoff.

“We had a lot of opportunities that we missed,” head coach Johnny Ward said. “We need to put that ball in the bucket.”

Andrew Soba led the Warriors with 10 points.

Carpinteria will look to increase its offensive output as it continues with tournament play tomorrow against Channel Islands who lost 56-47 to Arroyo Grande in its opener.
