Carpinteria’s girls water polo team made it five wins in its last six games on Monday, posting a 23-9 victory over Hueneme in a non-league contest.
Hope Grant and Tatiana Verdugo spearheaded the attack, tallying 7 and 6 goals, respectively. Maddie Brooks added two for the Warriors, who now stand at 7-5 on the season.
Vanessa Vega recorded 10 blocks in the cage.
Carpinteria started 2-4 but went 4-1 at this last weekend’s Los Altos Tournament in Los Angeles – the Warriors’ best finish ever there.
“We played out of our minds, it was nice,” said Warriors head coach Bryan Swarm
Carpinteria goes on a little break now, as the Warriors next game is not until 2012.
