Monica Garcia’s early goal stood up for Carpinteria High’s girls soccer team on Wednesday, bringing the Warriors a 1-0 victory at Thacher.
Carool Guerrero started the play in the Warriors’ half of the field and advanced the ball in the attacking half where she found Garcia.
Tania Arroyo recorded the shutout in goal for the Warriors, who improve to 2-2-2 on the season. Carpinteria face Orcutt Academy next.
