Santa Barbara struggled on offense against a solid Corona del Mar team and fell 7-5 in a non-league girls water polo match on Saturday.
The Dons made only five of 32 shots, but their defense kept them in the game. After trailing 6-3 at halftime, they held the Sea Queens scoreless in the third period and five minutes of the fourth period.
Kelsey O’Brien scored two goals and drew two ejections and Anna Brummett had a goal and earned three ejections for Santa Barbara (0-2).
The Dons host Edison on Dec. 16.
