Carpinteria girls tie 0-0

Both the Caprinteria and the Vasquez girls soccer teams played tough defense, and that was reflected in the 0-0 final score.

“We really shut down the other team’s offense,” head coach Lucy Carleton said.

Kelsey Drain played the sweeper position, while Erin Durflinger held down the outside back position and Lois Stanley spent time both in the middle and on the outside to preserve the shutout.

Carool Guerrero fought through an injury to help with the Warrior’s excellent defensive effort.

Carpinteria (1-1-1) continues its season at Channel Islands on Monday.
