Besant Hill betters Bishop by single point

Bishop Diego’s boys basketball team folded in the fourth quarter on Friday, allowing Besant Hill to come-from-behind and win 56-55 at the Oak Park Tournament.

“We had a good first half and just couldn’t hold on,” said Bishop Diego head coach Dean Prophet, who is still dealing with football players working their way into basketball shape.

Besant Hill outscored the Cardinals 21-5 in the final quarter to take the victory. A bucket with two seconds left put Besant Hill ahead and the Cardinals could not convert a shot at the buzzer.

Lukas Huberman led Besant Hill with 23 points.

Elias Munoz posted a season high with 22 points as did Paul Garcia with 12. Nolan Tisdale and Reece Moulton matched each other with six points.

Friday was the final day of the tournament. The Cardinals play again on Monday against St. Bonaventure.
