Warriors get double figures from Branson, Sachs

Fourteen Warriors saw court time in Saturday’s 83-64 victory over UC Merced for Westmont’s men’s basketball team, a game which was the first in program history for Merced.

Preston Branson led Westmont with 16 points in only 21 minutes. Jordan Sachs also reached double figures for the Warriors, who are off to a 2-0 start to the season. The duo combined to connect 9-of-15 field goals. Branson added three steals and four assists.

The Warriors spread it around on offense, featuring eight players with at least five points.

Aki Chambers poured in a game-high 22 points representing UC Merced. Chambers recorded a double-double with his 11 rebounds.

Westmont (2-0) faces Cal State San Bernardino next, followed by UCSB on Friday, Nov. 18.
