Stratman romps into Channel League semifinals

Top-seeded Lauren Stratman of Dos Pueblos rolled into the semifinals of the Channel League Individual Tennis Championships on Tuesday, winning  her first- and second-round matches 6-0, 6-0.

Stratman, who is seeking to become the league’s first four-time single champion since Santa Barbara’s Amelia White in 1988-1992, will play Santa Barbara’s Lexie Guilden in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club. Guilden upset No. 5 seed Jordan Lund of San Marcos, 6-2, 6-2, in the second round at Buena.
In the other semifinal, second-seeded Mattea Kilstofte will take on No. 3 seed Caitlyn Mannix of San Marcos. Mannix won a marathon second-round match over Kate Stratman 2-6, 6-0, 6-2. The match lasted 2 1/2 hours. Kilstofte, a freshman, defeated Santa Barbara teammate Hailey deBoer in the second round 6-0, 6-1.
