PHOTO GALLERY INTRO: James Nunnally led all scorers with 20 points in Friday night’s UCSB men’s basketball opener, which the Gauchos won 74-48 over Chapman University. Orlando Johnson made his season debut after sitting out UCSB’s exhibition opener and scored 14. But UCSB freshman John Green was hurt in the second half and may be lost for an extended period.

Orlando Johnson returned after missing a game with a sore achilles and played a team-high 29 minutes.

John Green is helped from the court after his injury. X-rays will be taken on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury.

UCSB point guards Nate Garth, pictured, and T.J. Taylor combined to hand out 10 assists without any turnovers.

Kyle Boswell reached double-figure scoring for the second game in a row with 11 points. The sharp-shooter is 6-for-9 on 3-pointers so far this season.

Jaime Serna, with six points on 2-of-3 shooting, makes a pass into the post. The Gauchos shot 58 percent from the floor as a team.
