Goalie Sean McGee scored the first goal of his career, and Santa Barbara had nine players tally goal in an 11-6 win over Ventura in the Channel League finale on Thursday.
With the win, the Dons share the league championship with Dos Pueblos, and they will go into the CIF Division 1 playoffs as the league’s No. 1 team based on winning a coin-flip on Thursday.
Preston Schlagel scored two goals and Skyler Matthews scored two goals, had three steals and drew three ejections.
“He was all over the pool,” Santa Barbara coach Mark Walsh said of Matthews.
McGee made 12 saves and scored his goal with two minutes left.
“It was a nice way to seal the game,” Walsh said.
The victory capped a huge week for the Dons. On Tuesday, they defeated Dos Pueblos to move into a tie for first.
Santa Barbara (20-8, 7-1) will learn its playoff draw on Sunday when the pairings are announced.
