Oaks Christian came down on Carpinteria’s boys water polo team 21-6 on Friday in a Tri-Valley League match.
The setback to one of the league’s top teams evens the Warriors’ TVL record at 2-2. Overall, Carpinteria is 7-11.
Carpinteria managed to take a 2-1 lead in the first quarter but the Lions regained the advantage and led 3-2 at the end of the period. It was 8-3 at halftime.
Cole Gill led the Warriors with three scores. Three others – Alan Chavez, Thomas Fly, Dylan Hathaway – added a goal apiece. Jacob Pate stopped 10 shots in the cage.
The Warriors return home for a pair of league matches next week. TVL-leading Malibu visits on Wednesday followed by Nordhoff on Friday.
