The San Marcos girls volleyball team started badly against Santa Margarita and was unable to recover, leading to a loss in consecutive sets in its second match at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions.
The scores in the games were 25-11, 25-9, 25-22.
Kristen Berlo led the team in kills with five, while Jordan Corry led in digs with five. Andie O’Donnell had an impressive passing performance with 18 assists.
The Royals opened the tournament with a loss to top-seeded Cathedral Catholic of San Diego.
