The San Marcos varsity girls finished third in its Division 3 heat race at the Mt. San Antonio Cross Country Invitational on Friday.
Three Royals placed in the top 20: Rocio Pacheco finished third with a time of 19:15, Kaitlyn Kuehn finished fifth at 19:58, and Iulia Roman finished 11th in 20:18.
Beverly Hills won the heat and Shafter finished second.
Santa Barbara’s James Scheuermann took second place in his D3 race, clocking 16:05.
In the sophomore race, the San Marcos girls took second place.
Isaac Wright ran the fastest time for the boys varsity team, finishing the course in 16:43.
Next up for the Royals is the County Championships on Friday at Lompoc’s River Park.
