San Marcos fell short against Ventura, 9-6, in a Channel League boys water polo match on Tuesday.
Shane Hauschild scored four goals to lead the Royals.
“I thought that we played a very good game and have improved a ton this season,” said San Marcos coach Jeff Ashton. “Our team defense is much improved and we had many scoring opportunities that we were unable to capitalize on. Getting those opportunities is the first step in getting better and hopefully we will start to finish those opportunities soon.”
Ventura was led by Tim Allen with four goals and Eric Birdsall with three.
