Santa Barbara held off a furious rally by Buena and escaped with an 8-7 victory in a Channel League boys water polo match on Tuesday.
The 10th-ranked Dons led 6-2 when the Bulldogs gained the momentum and made a charge at them.
Evan Robertson scored with a minute remaining to clinch the victory for Santa Barbara. He finished with a team-high three goals.
Tyler Heffernan scored twice and drew two ejections, while Preston Schlagel had four assists and three steals.
