Bishop falls to La Reina but stays in playoff hunt

Bishop Diego suffered its third straight Tri-Valley League girls volleyball loss, falling to La Reina on Senior Night at the Brickhouse. The game scores were 25-14, 25-20, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, the Cardinals remain in third place in league at 5-5.

“We control our own destiny,” coach Jason Donnelly said of holding on to third and a CIF playoff berth.

The Cardinals play at Nordhoff on Thursday and complete the regular season at St. Bonaventure next Tuesday.

Diana Sleep had 10 kills to lead Bishop (7-6 overall) against La Reina. Lauren Underwood added six kills and six digs and setter Nicole Tetherow had 25 assists.
