The Carpinteria defense scored two touchdowns and bounced back from its first loss of the season by blanking Santa Clara 42-0 at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.
Alex Rodriguez returned a fumble 74 yards and Andrew Sova intercepted a screen pass and returned it 50 yards as Carpinteria improved to 3-1 on the season.
