U.S. drops 3-2 decision against Italy

The power-play struggles continued for Team USA in a 3-2 water polo loss to Italy in a fifth-place semifinal game at the FINA Women’s Junior World Championships in Trieste, Italy.

The Americans went 1 for 6 on player-advantage situations in the physical, defensive battle.

Kiley Neushul (Dos Pueblos/Stanford) scored a goal for the U.S., which plays the Netherlands for seventh place.

The U.S. had beaten Italy 11-4 in group play.
