Stevenson is out as Cal Poly volleyball coach

UCSB alum Jon Stevenson was let go as the women’s volleyball coach at Cal Poly after being accused of sexual harassment by current and former players.

Assistant Caroline Walters has taken over the team as the interim coach.

Stevenson wasn’t with the team last weekend in Orem, Utah, where the Mustangs played in the Utah Valley Tournament.

A report from the Cal Poly Employment Equity Office listed several allegations made against Stevenson, according to Fox Central Coast News.

An investigation into the allegations was started in January of 2010 after several present and past team members complained of the coach’s conduct.

There has been no formal complaint filed against Stevenson.

Stevenson guided Cal Poly to the NCAA Tournament in 2006 and 2007, reaching the regional semifinals in 2007.
