Squash tourney features exhibition between top pros

The 27th annual Bartlein Squash Championships is taking place at the Santa Barbara Athletic Club, beginning Friday and running through the weekend.

On Saturday night there will be a professional exhibition match between David Palmer, former world No. 1 and current world No. 8-ranked player, against Julian Illingworth, the current U.S. National Champion, ranked 32nd in the world. The exhibition is a fundraiser for the Santa Barbara School of Squash.

The SBSOS supports the needs of underprivileged youth in the area, providing academic support as well as squash instruction and community service activities throughout the year.

There is a nominal charge of $15 to watch the exhibition match.
