San Marcos suffers first loss despite Hauschild’s seven goals

Shane Hauschild scored seven goals, but it was not enough for San Marcos against Claremont, and the Royals lost 15-9 at the Riverside Invitational.

“Shane played a great game and continued to shine even as the defense focused on him,” head coach Jeff Ashton said.

Kevyan Golizadeh and Spencer Kemp each had a goal, and goalie Parker Woodward had eight saves, but were unable to keep San Marcos from falling to 4-1 on the season.

The Royals continue play at the Riverside invitational with two matches tomorrow and two on Saturday.
