The San Marcos boys water polo team lost its second game this season after leading Nipomo 4-3 at halftime. The visiting Royals allowed six goals in the third quarter and lost the game 12-9.
Shane Hauschild and Kevyan Golizadeh led San Marcos with three goals each.
Ben Battles had a solid all-around performance with two goals, two assists, two steals, and a field block.
“Even though we suffered a dissapointing loss today, I was still pleased with how the boys played,” head coach Jeff Ashton said.
San Marcos (8-2) will start Channel League play on Thursday at Dos Pueblos.
