The Santa Barbara High boys water polo team went 1-1 at the South Coast Tournament, but struggled on the offensive end in both games.
The Dons first match was against Mission Viejo and they won 8-5. Gio Goggia had seven saves and Mason Pereira had a good all-around performance.
“We were pretty good on defense and that’s why we were able to win,” head coach Mark Walsh said.
In their next match, Santa Barbara was beaten by Loyola 13-4 and trailed big for most of the game.
After drawing even, the Dons will continue play in the 9-16 bracket at the tournament tomorrow.
