Dons get first road victory behind Pulice, Rottman

Remi Pulice led her team with 11 kills and Dani Rottman had 10 as the Santa Barbara High girls volleyball team defeated Harvard-Westlake in straight sets in their first away match.

Santa Barbara won 25-16, 25-23, and 28-26, as Holland Crenshaw added eight kills on 11 attempts and libero Bailey Roach had an excellent night passing as well as a fine defensive performance for the Dons.

“We played good volleyball on the road and it’s nice to get a win when you have to travel,” Dons head coach John Gannon said.

The Dons left the ocean breeze of home behind and traveled to the San Fernando Valley and Harvard-Westlake’s 95-degree gym, but endured the tough conditions and improved to 3-0.

Santa Barbara plays next at Santa Margarita on Friday.
