Cate swept at Grace Brethren

The young Cate girls volleyball team was unable to take a set after traveling to play Grace Brethren.

The scores for the sets were 14-25, 23-25, and 18-25.

Sydney Pierce led the Rams with nine kills and Emma Birrell contributed seven more.  Pierce also helped her team immensely with aggressive jump serves that led to several points throughout the match.

Annie Wies has switched from libero to middle to step in for an injured teammate and continued to excel at her new position.

Although the Rams were not able to take a set, they are encouraged by the constant improvement that has been shown throughout the season.

“We’re very young with a lot of freshman and sophomores,” head coach Greg Novak.  “Every match that we play has been a new learning experience.”

Cate (0-2) plays next at home against Malibu on Friday.
