Kyle Mayfield had four rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown in Cate’s 42-6 eight-man football victory over Divinity Harvest Charter.
Austin Gallegos was the recipient of Mayfield’s lone touchdown throw and Ed Hawkins was the other Cate player to reach paydirt with a 3-yard run.
Divinity Harvest Charter opened the second half by driving the ball to Cate’s 3-yard line, but Cate’s defense held strong on a goal-line stand.
Cate built momentum and never looked back on the way to routing its opponent.
The Rams (1-1) continue their season next Saturday at home against Alpaugh.
