Carpinteria struggles early against Nordhoff

The Carpinteria girls volleyball team was unable to start well on the road against Nordhoff and lost in consecutive sets.

The scores for the sets were 15-25, 11-25, and 22-25.

“We shot ourselves in the foot in game one and two,” head coach Katie Dolge said.  “We just made a lot of mistakes.”

The team rebounded and began passing well in the third game, and if not for a run due to aggressive serves by Nordhoff, could have prolonged the match.

Morgan led Carpinteria with six kills, and Lacey Bushey contributed 10 digs.  Allie Sundara had an excellent match in service with three aces.

The Warriors play next on the road against Hueneme on Friday.
