No. 8 UC Santa Barbara used a five-goal second quarter to earn a 10-7 win over No. 13 Concordia Saturday, Sept. 17 in Game Seven of the NorCal Tournament at Delta College.
The match was knotted at 3-3 after the first quarter, but the Gauchos registered five goals while shutting out the Eagles, going into halftime ahead 8-3.
Concordia tried to mount a comeback, outscoring UCSB 4-2 after halftime, but it was not enough.
Brian Shoemaker led the way for the Gauchos, finishing three times. Komadinic recorded a pair of goals. UCSB goalkeeper Myles Christian registered 10 saves in a complete game.
Jacob Belamaric was the only Eagle to score more than one goal. Concordia received a single goal from six different players. Goalkeeper Ryan Freerks went the distance, tallying 10 saves.
