Santa Barbara’s Jack Perry qualified for the U.S. Amateur golf championship by winning a qualifying tournament in Waukegan, Ill.
Perry, who led the Dons to the CIF State championship in 2010 and just completed his freshman season at Northwestern University, shot a 4-under 136 at the par 70 Glen Flora Country Club. He won by two strokes after shooting rounds of 69-67.
The top four finishers qualified for the U.S. Amateur on Aug. 22-28 at Erin Hills Country Club in Wisconsin.
Perry, who won the Oxnard City Championship last month, is currently playing in the Western Amateur in Chicago.
