Breakers playing tournament in Mexico

The Santa Barbara Breakers opened play in the Chihuahua, Mexico Classic basketball tournament with a 108-106 overtime loss to the Mexican National Team.

The Breakers sent the game into overtime when Vince Camper hit a tear-drop shot over two defenders at the buzzer to tie the score at 96-96.

The Mexicans won the game on a putback shot from 8 feet at the buzzer.

Camper and Tim Taylor scored 20 points to lead the Breakers. Rodney Webb added 18 points, Durwin Williams 16 and Ron Johnson 15.

The Breakers will continue tournament play against a Mexican All-Star team and the Texas Tornadoes.
