Winecki takes over boys soccer program at San Marcos

San Marcos has named Matt Winecki as its new boys varsity soccer coach.

Winecki takes over for Scott Holt, who recently got married and moved to Arizona, said San Marcos Athletic Director Abe Jahadhmy.

Winecki was an assistant coach at Santa Barbara City College and is a member of the coaching staff at ONE Soccer Schools. He’s played professionally in France, Costa Rica and the Czech Republic. He holds a USSF Class D coaching license.

Winecki will be assisted by Paul Hart, said Jahadhmy.

Hart was a goalkeeper with the Queen Park Rangers in England. He also is an assistant coach at SBCC and is the goalkeeping coach for the Olympic Development Program with the California Soccer Assocation-South.

He holds a USSF National Goalkeeping License (2011), UEFA B License (2000), USSF C License (2004), and NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma Level 1 & 2 (2008), He is certified as a Performance Enhanced Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (2009).
