Goleta Valley South Little League erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to rally for an 8-5 win over Dos Pueblos in an entertaining pool-play game of the District 63 11-under All-Star Tournament on Sunday at the GVSLL complex.
A bases-loaded double by Isaac Oh and a big hit by Jake Sofro keyed Goleta Valley’s sixth-inning rally.
Trey Tank allowed DP one run in the bottom of the sixth before closing out the game.
Dos Pueblos capitalized on a misplayed pop fly to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
But Colter Nisbet gave Goleta Valley the lead in the second with a two-run homer.
Dos Pueblos countered with two runs in the second and one in the fourth to go up 4-2.
Starting pitcher Dylan Kelley frustrated Goleta Valley for five innings, but Goleta Valley finally got to him in the sixth and improved to 2-0 in the tournament. DP is 1-1.
