Carson Curtis shot a 1-under par 70 at Montecito Country Club to win medalist honors in the first round of Buddy Allin Tournament, the opening event of the Santa Barbara Junior Golf Tour.
Ryan Stoll, playing in the 14-15 age group, posted the second-best score with a 74. Christopher Wong won the 12-13 division with an 87 and Vanesa Villa captured the girls 14-over group with an 87. Ryan Mikles won the 9-hole 10-11 age group with a 49.
Round Two of the “Buddy Allin” will be on Monday morning at Sandpiper GC.
The top eight from this event have qualified for the Presidents Cup Match Play finals and the top 8 from Sandpiper getting the remaining spots.
The event will be ongoing over the summer with a total elimination match play format of a 16 player bracketed system.
