Blake Mackall didn’t lose a game in three sets, leading Cate to a 13-5 win over visiting Gahr in the first round of the CIF Division 4 tennis playoffs.
“It was a great match all the way around,” said Cate coach Bob Bonning.
In doubles, Chris Lin-Grant Redmond went 3-0 and the team of Gregory Mak-Ahmed Bou-Rabee won two sets without a loss.
Cate improves to 8-7.
