Scottsdale, AZ – U.S. Lacrosse named its WCLA All-Americans at an awards ceremony at the McDowell Mountain Marriott Wednesday afternoon. The ceremony was held in advance of the opening round of the evening national championship tournament games being played at the Scottsdale Sports Complex.

Five UCSB women’s lacrosse players made USL Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association All-American.

Senior attacker Ashley Antoon-Algieri made her third All-American team, having been named First Team her sophomore and junior years as well. First time All-Americans were junior attacker Maegan Cruse, junior goalie Jeni Centner, sophomore midfielder Katie Mitchell, and sophomore defender Emilia Norlin. The five Gauchos were also named to Western Women’s Lacrosse League All-League teams in the WWLL awards ceremony on April 18th.

Players from WWLL teams snared 16 of the 36 All-American spots showing the strength and organization of the first collegiate-club women’s lacrosse league in the United States.

First founded in 1992 with 8 inaugural members, it has now grown to 34 teams playing in three divisions of competition.
