First-place Carpinteria dominates Santa Paula, 11-1

Catalina Maldonado pitched another complete, as Carpinteria defeated Santa Paula 11-1 in a Frontier League softball game  called after six innings Tuesday on the 10-run mercy rule.

Maldonado (14-5) allowed just four hits while striking out 4. She also pitched in at the plate with two doubles.

Dakotah Wilcox, Myriah Diaz, Carmen Campi and sophomore Erin Saito each had a double for the Warriors.

“I thought overall we played a good ballgame. It was a big bounce back from last week,” said coach Henry Gonzales

The first-place Warriors move to 8-1 in league, and face Villanova at home on Thursday for the final game of the regular season.
