SBCC’s top two singles players won their matches on Friday to move into the Round of 16 in the WSC men’s tennis tournament at Ventura College.
Regis Fastrez and Troy Akin captured their first-round matches while Simi El Azzouzi, John Rosenkvist, Rob Herr, Che Borja and Justin Kautz were eliminated.
Borja-Rosenkvist won their doubles match and will play in today’s Round of 16, along with Fastrez-El Azzouzi and Akin-Herr, who had byes.
Today’s winners will advance to the Southern Cal Regional on May 5-7 at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
