Cate School struggled in doubles and fell short against San Marcos 10-8 in a non-league boys tennis match at the Royals’ courts on Friday.
San Marcos dominated the doubles, going 8-1.
Blake Mackall led the way for the Rams in singles, sweeping his sets 3-0. Petar Jivkov went 2-1 to lead the Royals.
Cate’s Ahmed Bou-Rabee and Jason Park earned the only points for doubles, going 1-2. San Marcos’ Travis Enholm/Parker Funk and Nik Kilpelainen/Garret Timmons combined for six points.
Cate falls to 2-5, while San Marcos improves to 7-3.
