Gaucho Gallop is for runners — and dogs — of all ages

In Pamplona, Spain, they do the running of the bulls.

In Santa Barbara, the last weekend in April means it’s time for the running of the Gauchos: past, present and future.

As part of the All-Gaucho Reunion, UCSB is holding the Gaucho Gallop on Saturday, April 30, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Harder Stadium.

The fundraising event includes the Santa Barbara Running Company 10- and 5-kilometer run run/walk, the Dioji Dog Dash and “G Kids” Dash. At the end of the races, there will a finish-line festival and Dioji Doggie Lounge for you pet.

Registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Pre-event fees are $20 for students and UCSB Alumni Association members; $22 for Moms in Motion members and UCSB alumni, faculty and staff; $25 for general public. Fees go up $5 on race day.

Race times are 8:15 a.m. for the dog dash at Storke Field, 9 a.m. for the 10k and 5k and 10:15 a.m. for the “G Kids” Dash. Winners of the 10K races will receive beach cruisers from Collegiate Bicycle Company.
