Paula Congleton, in her 13th season as SBCC’s softball coach, has earned the Faculty Excellence Award from the Academic Senate and the Faculty Recognition Committee.
Congleton, an associate athletic director who teaches P.E. and Dance, was one of six honorees. The others are Blake Barron, Biological Sciences; Cindy Bower, Associate Degree in Nursing; Dixie Budke, School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management; Steve Conti, Disabled Students Programs and Services and Pam Guenther, Mathematics.
Congleton has guided the softball squad to its best seaosn in school history with a 31-5 record, the first-ever Western State Conference championship, a No. 7 ranking in Southern California and a Regional playoff berth.
